Horticultural, Agricultural and Related Shows

The firm, together with its competitors, were consistent show and exhibition attenders from the period when Thomas Messenger ran the firm in the 1860’s, right up to the late 1930’s. In the early years, they probably attended several shows per year, although with the increasing popularity of the Royal Horticultural Society’s Great Spring Show, today simply referred to as Chelsea; they restricted themselves to one major show per year.
